Pix-Blueprint Privacy Policy
Pix-Blueprint creates guided building surveys, records room and fixture measurements, and can mirror project files to a folder you select through Android.
Summary
Pix-Blueprint is designed to keep project data under your control. The app stores projects locally and does not send personal data or building-plan data to Pix-Kit. It has no advertising, analytics, behavioural tracking, account system, crash-reporting service, or Pix-Kit-operated cloud service, and it does not request Android's Internet permission.
1. Information Pix-Blueprint handles
Depending on the features you use, Pix-Blueprint may handle:
- Building, floor, room, stair, wall, and fixture names; layouts; dimensions; colours; icons; positions; construction properties; and project display preferences.
- Measurements, timestamps, verification state, capture source, recent measurement history, and the display name of a Bluetooth device used to capture a reading.
- Custom room and fixture presets, including presets you add or remove from the editable catalogue.
- A selected document-folder URI, Android's persisted read/write grant for that folder, and a random installation identifier used to keep this device's synchronized revisions separate.
- Nearby Bluetooth advertisements and connection details, including device name, Bluetooth address, signal strength, supported services, and measurement data, while discovering and communicating with a compatible measuring device.
The Bluetooth address is used during the connection session and may appear in Android diagnostic logs. It is not written into a project file. A connected device's display name may be retained with a measurement so the source of that reading remains understandable.
2. Local storage
Projects, measurement histories, catalogue customizations, folder settings, and the synchronization device identifier are stored in the app's private storage. Project files are replaced using crash-safe local writes. Pix-Blueprint keeps up to 10 recent values for each measurement target and up to 10 local whole-project revision snapshots.
Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for Pix-Blueprint app data. The app does not claim that project files or exported copies are encrypted.
3. Bluetooth and permissions
Nearby-device permissions are used only to discover, connect to, and communicate with supported Bluetooth measurement devices. On Android 11 and older, Android requires location permission for Bluetooth Low Energy scanning. Pix-Blueprint does not use scan results to derive, store, collect, or share your location.
You can use manual measurement entry without connecting a Bluetooth device. Bluetooth access can be denied or revoked in Android settings.
4. Selected folders and storage providers
Folder synchronization is optional. If you select a folder from the Home screen, Android grants Pix-Blueprint access only through the system document picker. The app creates Pix-Blueprint/projects at that location, then one stable subfolder per project containing its current JSON file and versioned revisions. It keeps up to 10 synchronized revisions per project for this installation.
The selected location may be local storage or a folder exposed through Android by a document-provider app. Dropbox, Google Drive, and similar services appear in the picker only when their installed Android app supports selecting folders. A provider may upload, retain, or otherwise process those files under its own terms and privacy policy. Pix-Blueprint does not receive your provider password or account credential and does not connect directly to that provider over the Internet.
Removing the folder from Pix-Blueprint releases the app's saved access grant but does not delete files already stored by the provider.
5. Sharing and receiving apps
Sharing occurs only after you request it and choose a receiving app or destination through Android. Projects found in a selected synchronization folder are validated before they are restored to the local library.
Once a project copy is sent to another app, device, person, or storage provider, that recipient handles the copy under its own privacy and security practices.
6. Data disclosure
Pix-Kit does not sell, rent, or use Pix-Blueprint data for advertising. The app does not transmit project data to Pix-Kit. Data leaves the app only through a feature you choose, such as Bluetooth communication, folder synchronization, or sharing, or through actions taken by the Android operating system and the apps or document providers you select.
7. Retention and deletion
- Deleting a project removes its current local file and its local revision snapshots.
- Custom catalogue entries can be deleted in the app. Built-in suggestions can be hidden and restored by clearing app data.
- Clearing app data or uninstalling Pix-Blueprint removes app-private projects, catalogue settings, folder settings, and unshared local revisions.
- Detaching a synchronization folder does not delete synchronized files. Exported, shared, and synchronized copies must be deleted from their destination by you or the destination provider.
8. Security
Pix-Blueprint uses app-private Android storage, persisted document-provider permissions, bounded histories, validated JSON folder restore, and crash-safe file replacement to reduce the risk of accidental loss or unauthorized access. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect access to your device and choose trusted apps and folders when sharing or synchronizing sensitive building information.
9. Children's privacy
Pix-Blueprint is a general building-survey utility and is not directed to children. Pix-Kit does not knowingly collect personal data from children or adults through the app.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Pix-Blueprint changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest published version. Material changes to the app's data practices will also require the applicable store disclosures to be updated.
